Role Overview

Our HR Assistant will work closely with our HR & People Development Manager to support our growing workforce and to assist the management team with all people related matters from induction and training through to advice on employment issues. The company invests in recruiting, training and developing strong people and this role is no exception.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Provide HR inductions for new starters with the Company
  • Assist in the recruitment process, from posting job adverts to processing DBS checks
  • Process confidential HR/payroll data for all employees
  • Manage confidential data in line with GDPR legislation to ensure company compliance
  • Taking responsibility for standard HR correspondence including offer letters, contracts and other HR documentation for the business
  • Attend staff meetings where required including taking notes when required
  • Provide confidential support to managers across the business on HR matters
  • Input HR data into our HR system (Citrus HR)
  • Support the HR & People Development Manager in implementing new procedures and systems to proactively drive positive change
  • Working with the training and development team in driving, scheduling, recording and organizing training across the business
  • Supporting managers with the performance appraisal process
  • Assist line managers with disciplinary, capability and grievance investigations and hearings
  • Assist line managers with staff absences, both short and long term

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Self-motivated, proactive and approachable
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Generalist HR experience with knowledge of employment law and managing HR projects
  • Able to identify HR best practices and the measures that drive performance
  • Ability to communicate, respond to and successfully resolve queries from all users across the business
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Educated to A-Level minimum but ideally degree level with a relevant degree
  • Flexible with ability to travel occasionally to our hubs in Peterborough, Runcorn and Winchester
