We did it! On Saturday, 6th September, ICE took on the gruelling South Coast Ultra Challenge, where we completed a whopping 25km hike with an overall elevation of 660m 🤯

Challenge is certainly the right word to describe it…

We’re thrilled to announce that all 15 ICE employees who undertook the task crossed the finish line. They tackled a drastically sharp incline right from the start, before facing the arduous Seven Sisters (the 7 sinisterly steep hills that dot the coastline of Eastbourne)! With feet hurting and tiring after these hills, they endured a final 7km stretch of rocky path before reaching the finish line in Alfriston.

The stats are in:

  • An average of over 40,000 steps each.
  • Roughly 2000 calories burnt each.
  • A 72-hour suggested recovery time needed.
  • All in 22° heat and direct persistent sunlight.

A huge day for our Chosen Charity!!

All proceeds are going straight to our brilliant chosen charity, Simon Says Child Bereavement Support. They are a local charity to us here in Hampshire, whose incredible work helps children navigate the hardship of having lost a special loved one in their lives. All kind donations are vital in keeping their good work going, with Simon Says receiving no Government funding.

A massive well done to all involved. The challenge was certainly tough, but completely worth it for such a fantastic cause 💙

A huge shoutout goes to our new Engineer, Daniel Tucker, who decided to run the 25km distance, finishing 10th overall!!! Well done, Daniel!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

We’d like to take an important moment to thank and recognise everyone who donated for their overwhelming support. The generous donations from family, friends, suppliers, and customers certainly helped us cross that finish line and will go a long way for the children struggling to come to terms with losing that special someone 💙

So far, with much support, we’ve raised an incredible £2,325 for Simon Says, but we’re just £175 shy of our target!
