Darren Marston – Executive Chairman

Darren has worked in the cleaning industry for over 30 years and is the Executive Chairman at ICE – a company which was set up by his father in 1965.

Darren is greatly respected within the cleaning industry by his peers and colleagues and currently sits on the Board of the Cleaning Services Support Association (CSSA). He is also an active member of the The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners, the British Cleaning Council, and the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc).

Mark Bresnihan – Managing Director

Mark joined the ICE business in 1997 as a Regional Sales Executive based in Northamptonshire. As the business rapidly expanded, his role changed to Sales Manager and then Sales Director which was promptly followed by his permanent relocation to Southampton where ICE’s head office was and still is based.

In 2008 Mark had the privilege of accepting the position of Managing Director, the position that he still holds to this day. This role carries huge responsibility which he takes very seriously and is very proud to work with such diverse, forward thinking, and enthusiastic people. These people make up the great team and organisation that ICE has become today.

Ricky Smith – Head of Sales

Ricky joined the cleaning industry at the very young age of 22 years having successfully completed his A Levels at college and having worked in a call centre sales environment. Joining Karcher UK, Ricky worked his way up from the Customer Support Centre to National Sales Manager. He was then offered the opportunity to run the UK and Ireland Sales function for Truvox International where he worked for 4 years.

Ricky then joined ICE as Sales Director in May 2013, and is now Head of Sales and Innovation. He is both delighted and proud to have been part of the growth within ICE over recent years and looks forward to what promises to be an exciting future working within a great team.

Julie Kitchener – Head of Customer Service & Marketing

After leaving Southampton University with a Business Studies degree, Julie joined BT on their graduate scheme. She spent 13 years there working in various marketing roles, including launching Broadband throughout the UK. Whilst working for BT she also studied for a Marketing Master’s degree which she achieved in 2006.

Julie joined ICE in October 2014 to run the marketing function where she was responsible for all elements of marketing and PR for the business. Julie was then promoted in January 2019 to Head of Customer Service and Marketing, and is now responsible for the Customer Service, Product Genius and Marketing departments. Julie is also part of the Cleaning Support Services Association (CSSA) Marketing Executive Group and the CSSA Women’s Group.

Lee Owen – Head of Operations

After leaving school, Lee started his career within the Facilities Management industry at Wetrok UK which involved pre-delivery inspection of new machinery and re-builds of various types of cleaning machines. He then moved into the field engineering community and was able to use his knowledge to achieve a high first-time fix rate and gain experience in customer needs and expectations.

Lee joined ICE in 2013 as a Field Engineer and has progressed up the management ladder to Head of Operations. He now leads a team of over 60 people including Field Engineers, Hub Technicians, Compliance engineers, and Technical Services Managers.

Alex Blake – Head of Key Account Management

Alex has had several Key Account and Business Development leadership roles within the Facilities Management industry. His career journey started with ICE in 2009 initially in a Sales Support position, which progressed to Key Account Manager. In 2014, Alex joined Mitie where he held Sales & Key Account Management roles for their Retail and Events Leisure sectors. Most recently he has been in Key Account Director positions at ABM and CBRE. Alex has returned to ICE as Head of Key Accounts and member of the Group Operating Board. Alex will capitalise on his experience within FM over the past decade to bring new ideas and create added value to ICE and its clients.

Outside of work Alex is a keen golfer regularly playing in club competitions, and he enjoys travelling and spending time with his family. He has also spent the last 8 years volunteering as a Co-Opted Governor and Chair of the Learning Committee at a local school.
