Role Overview
As a Assistant Management Accountant, you will be responsible for providing accurate reporting and analysis of finances. You will prepare monthly sales and management accounts, oversee VAT Returns, and manage external reporting requirements. Additionally, you will support key stakeholders with essential data, manage year-end audit preparations, and ensure robust financial controls and procedures are in place.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Prepare accurate monthly flash sales and management accounts in a timely manner
- Ensure the preparation and submission of VAT Returns accurately and on time.
- Manage external reporting requirements, including business surveys, HMRC compliance, payroll, and pensions.
- Prepare key data for internal and external stakeholders, including sales teams, customers, and management, and address anomalies with appropriate actions.
- Prepare the documents required at the year-end for the auditors and manage the day-to-day audit requests
- Collaborate with the Credit Control and Accounts Payable teams to ensure robust controls and procedures are in place.
- Coordinate the monthly ledger close process, including the review and reconciliation of key metrics to meet strict internal deadlines.
- Maintain accurate accounting for company leases, hire purchase arrangements, and financial commitments, ensuring the maintenance of supporting evidence.
- Oversee payroll and expenses management and processing alongside the Financial Controller.
- Provide fast and accurate responses to ad hoc information requests from the CFO and Leadership Team.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Advanced user in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Newly Qualified/1 years post qualification experience in a similar role
- Strong analytic and financial skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to present work in a clear and concise manner
- Able to work to deadlines and manage priorities
- Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders
